30주년을 맞이하며 다시 문을 여는 <언니네 이발관>

약 23년간 한국 인디 밴드신을 이끌었던 뮤지션들의 뮤지션 밴드 ‘언니네 이발관’. 2017년 리더이자 주축이 되었던 맴버 ‘이석원(@mysweetsentence)’의 진심어린 편지와 함께 활동 종료를 선언한지 약 8년. 내년으로 30주년을 맞이하는 그들을 기념하며 음악계로의 조심스러운 복귀를 알렸다.

활동 종료 이후 작가로 활동하며 대표작 <보통의 존재>를 포함해 10권의 책을 발간하며 작가로의 활동을 이어나간 이석원은 개인 블로그를 통해 2026년, 30주년을 맞이하는 언니네 이발관의 기념비적인 해를 기념하는 음악과 가사집으로 팬들에게 돌아올 계획이라고 밝혔다.

<가장 보통의 존재>, <아름다운 것>, <혼자 추는 춤> 등 언니네 이발관만의 독보적인 색체가 담긴 수많은 명곡을 남기며 대한민국 인디신의 큰 족적을 남긴 그들의 새로운 행보는 올해와 내년에 걸쳐 우리들의 곁으로 서서히 떠오를 예정이다.


For 23 years, Unnine Ibalgwan (언니네 이발관) was known as a "musician's musician" band, leading the Korean indie scene. In 2017, the band's leader and core member, Lee Seok-won (@mysweetsentence), announced their disbandment with a heartfelt letter. Now, nearly eight years later, and approaching their 30th anniversary next year, the band has cautiously hinted at a return to music.

Following the band’s disbandment, Lee Seok-won transitioned into a writing career, publishing ten books, including his notable work, The Ordinary Existence (보통의 존재). Through his personal blog, he recently revealed plans to celebrate Unnine Ibalgwan’s milestone 30th anniversary in 2026 by releasing new music and a lyric book, marking a long-awaited reunion with fans.

With timeless songs like "The Most Ordinary Existence (가장 보통의 존재)," "Beautiful Things (아름다운 것)," and "A Dance Alone (혼자 추는 춤)," the band has left an undeniable mark on Korea’s indie music scene. Their latest move signals a gradual return, set to unfold throughout this year and next.
