LA의 일상을 담은 곽기곤의 포토북 <Lost in Los Angeles>

포토그래퍼 ’곽기곤(@kigon_kwak)‘의 새로운 포토북 <Lost in Los Angeles>의 출간 행사가 아트북 전문 서점 ’포스트 포에틱스(@postpoetics)‘에서 진행된다. 이미 패션 포토 및 다양한 상업 사진 및 영상 분야에서 활동하며 커리어를 이어오고 있는 곽기곤은 이전에 2019년 개인전 《Pieces》를 개최하고 사진집 <Sand>와 <That Summer>를 출간한 바있다.

이번 출간되는 곽기곤의 <Lost in Los Angeles>는 그가 로스앤젤레스에 머물던 2020년부터 2024년까지 촬영한 사진들로 구성된 책이다. 그가 새로운 환경을 마주하는 기대감과 그 곳에서 실제로 마주한 예기치 않은 현실 사이에서의 이야기를 담은 이 책은, 곽기곤만의 시선으로 바라본 LA라는 도시의 풍경을 통해 작가의 솔직한 시각을 드러낸다.

행사가 진행되는 이틀간 상주하며 자신이 담아낸 시선들을 나누어갈 예정인 포토그래퍼 곽기곤. 상업 포토가 아닌 그만의 예술적 세계를 담은 포토북 <Lost in Los Angeles> 출간 행사는 오는 2월 22일, 23일 양일간 진행되며 특별한 굿즈 제품도 함께 선보일 예정이다.


Photographer Kigon Kwak (@kigon_kwak) is hosting a book launch event for his new photobook, Lost in Los Angeles, at the art book specialty bookstore Post Poetics (@postpoetics). Having built a career in fashion photography, as well as various commercial photography and video fields, Kigon Kwak previously held his solo exhibition Pieces in 2019 and published the photobooks Sand and That Summer.

His latest release, Lost in Los Angeles, is a collection of photographs taken during his stay in Los Angeles from 2020 to 2024. Capturing the contrast between the anticipation of encountering a new environment and the unexpected realities he faced, the book offers a candid perspective on the city through his unique lens.

During the two-day event, Kigon Kwak will be present to share his vision and engage with visitors. Showcasing his artistic world beyond commercial photography, the Lost in Los Angeles book launch will take place on February 22 and 23, featuring exclusive special merchandise as well.
