1994년, 컴퓨터 과학자 ‘드미트리 부테린’과 공학자 및 사회사업가 ‘나탈리아 아멜린’ 사이에서 태어난 한 아이는 이후 세계 경제를 뒤흔드는 거물이 되었다. 그의 이름은 ‘비탈릭 부테린(Vitalik Buterin)’ 어린시절부터 수학과 프로그래밍의 영재였던 그는 2011년, 처음 비트코인을 접하게 되었고 그 잠재력에 빠르게 매료되었다.
